New Project: Interior design for police

Recently I finished this interior design.
The main theme of the interior of the Pantry and Home Concept to meet and to feel at home. To encourage the meeting part I suggested large tables with benches and stools to sit down to the table.
I have chosen an atmosphere with natural and raw materials like scrapwood and scaffolding pipes. Functionality is very important in this interior design because the furniture by the wapons the policemen wear.

Tommy Hilfiger ‘Peoples Place’

You can't find a logo in this restaurant where the people of Tommy Hilfiger have lunch.
I think it is special that a brand doesn't express who they are with a logo but with feeling and atmosphere. Nice place to have lunch if you work for Tommy Hilfiger in Amsterdam.
Marc Prosman is responsible for the interior design.

Get inspired

This is definitely the most colorful room I ever designed. During a meeting you can write your great ideas on the pink walls or hang your paper sheets, so you don't need ugly whiteboards... I used vintage chairs from project 99

My new home office

In Septembre I will start my own freelance business in interior design and I'm very busy with my business plan and stuff like that. Very exciting! In the beginning I will work from home so I have to create a bigger space where I can work and store my stuff. I would like to create a big floating worktable, something like the picture in my mood board, but unfortunately that's not possible because of the fireplace as you can see at the picture of my home office as it is at the moment. I will solve this problem by using a drawer from IKEA at one side, that will support the table top.

Vintage style in the office: HQ Facebook

Yesterday I wrote about my love for vintage. Today I want to show you a nice example where the designers used a lot of vintage in the design of the headquarters of Facebook in California. It looks inviting and I like the use of color in combination with the retro stone walls of this former laboratory.

Office and cafe for nomadic workers in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A great example of the new way to work. Work when you want and where you want!
I found an article about Urban station, designed by Total Tool, at www.dezeen.com, one of my favourite website to stay up to date about recent projects.

A day at the office: Paint it black

I29 Interior Architects created a new office interior for Gummo, which embraces the 'reduce, reuse, recycle'-mantra.
Neadless to say, the interior design budget was tight.
So I29 Interior Architects decided to reduce, reuse and recycle to create a stylish office space that would impact as little as possible on the environment or Gummo's wallet.
A theme was developped that would reflect the clients personality and design philosophy: simple, uncomplicated, no-nonsense, yet unquestionably stylish with a twist of humour. To reduce costs, all furniture was locally sourced via Marktplaats (sort of a Dutch eBay), charity shops and left overs from the old office. Everything was spray painted environmently friendly paint.

Sevil Peach Architecture+Design

I really love the designs of Sevil peach. This space was great inspiration for a training room at our office i'm working on right now.
