Interieuronwerp & styling Studio Nest

Times are changing

I've been busy with the start of my own company Studio Nest. That's why I haven't been blogging lately, but that's going to change. I will let you know when my website is finished but for now you can see what I've been doing here, on Facebook or via Twitter.

Last week we threw a party and got this jug from a good friend. I love the form so much and it looks really pretty as a vase as well.  It's from the table ware collection of Piet Hein Eek called DIK (what means fat in dutch) and it's made in Thailand & faitrade.

Amsterdam inspiration

Last weekend I made some pictures during a walk through Amsterdam. In the harbor area I saw this drifting wooden house, isn't it beautiful?

DIY in black

I bought this lamp on Marktplaats (dutch ebay) for €10,- and it was white, but the base was made of plastic in stead of metal and didn't look good. So my boyfriend and I spray painted it with several layers and, I'm so happy with it. My workplace is almost finished now.

Before

My new home office

In Septembre I will start my own freelance business in interior design and I'm very busy with my business plan and stuff like that. Very exciting! In the beginning I will work from home so I have to create a bigger space where I can work and store my stuff. I would like to create a big floating worktable, something like the picture in my mood board, but unfortunately that's not possible because of the fireplace as you can see at the picture of my home office as it is at the moment. I will solve this problem by using a drawer from IKEA at one side, that will support the table top.

Vote for our design

Recently my boyfriend and I joined a design contest here in Amsterdam. The assignment was to design an apartment with the intention of actually buying or renting it later. So we designed our dream apartment with a studio that we can afford at this point in our life. If you like you can help us by voting here and click on the most right star. A few snapshots of my life

On friday my new white Iphone arrived and I downloaded immediately the Hipstamatic app, because I loved the pictures my friend made with it. I really missed it to be able to photograph the things around me, without always caring my SLR camera with me, to big.
