My painted Piet Hein Eek cabinet

Mijn kastje is bezorgd! 

Afgelopen zaterdag was de dag dat alle winnaars van de ontwerp wedstrijd van 101 karakters van Histor in de werkplaats van Piet Hein Eek aan de slag gingen met hun ontwerp. Een inspirerende dag, goede sfeer en leuke mensen. Alles was super goed geregeld door Histor, alles stond klaar en de stylisten en verfspecialisten stonden de hele dag klaar om je te adviseren. Met de tips van de styliste Jelena Wurth is het perfect gelukt om het verloop van de kleuren van mijn ontwerp te realiseren. Ik ben super blij met het eindresultaat.

Ik heb het kastje gefotografeerd in mijn studio. Dit is de tijdelijke plek want ik ga nu eens rustig bedenken wat de definitieve plek.

My cabinet has been delivered!

Last saturday was the day all winners of the design contest of 101 karakters Histor started to realize their design in the workshop of Piet Hein Eek. It was an inspiring day, with good atmosphere and nice people. Everything was very well organized by Histor, when we arrived, everything was prepared to start, the stylists and paint specialists where there to advice you all day. With the advice of one of the stylists it worked out perfectly to recreate the blended color pallet I designed. I'm very happy with the result.

I photographed the cabinet in my studio. This is a temporary spot and now I'm going to think about what the perfect place will be.

Lente in je interieur

Het hangt al weken in de lucht maar het lijkt dan eindelijk zover, dit weekend wordt het lenteweer! Tijd om de lente ook in huis te halen. Bijvoorbeeld door een natuurlijk kleurenpalet toe te passen. Hier wat groene inspiratie. De kleurstalen komen uit de prachtige collectie Pure van Flexa, kleur Jade.

Foto styling workshop @ Tine K Home

Zaterdag heb ik een fotostyling workshop gevolgd van Paulina Arcklin. De workshop werd gegeven in de showroom van Tinek K Home Nederland waardoor we prachtige producten en materialen voor handen hadden om composities mee te maken.

Styling idea: Composition of memories

Wanneer je een schaal of plateau gebruikt als basis voor je compositie van accessoires dan komen ze extra goed tot hun recht. Het kader zorgt ervoor dat je accessoires samen een geheel vormen. Kies een aantal items die je mooi vindt en die een verhaal vertellen. Speel met texturen, materialen, met hoge en lage elementen.

In mijn voorbeeld heb ik bijvoorbeeld een vaasje en een boekje wat ik tijdens een geweldig weekend in Parijs kocht, kwasten en potloden die ik tijdens mijn studie gebruikte en een mooie steen die ik als kind van mijn vader kreeg. Zo zie ik iedere dag dingen die me herinneren aan dierbaren en mooie reizen.

When you use a tray as a base for your composition of accessories in your interior it will come out very well. The frame makes that the accessoiries come out as a unity. Choose a few items that you love and tell a story. Play with textures, materials, high and low items.

In my example I used a vase and small book that I bought during a lovely weekend in Paris, brushes and pencils I used during my study and a stone I received from my father when I was little. I see these things that remind me of my loved ones and beautiful journeys.

Styling Idea: Springtime Carpet

Finally it's sunny again outside. Get spring inside by changing a few things in your interior. For instance update your home by adding a fresh and sunny carpet.

Styling idea: The round mirror

A great benefit of using a mirror in your interior is that it makes a room more spacious.  Beside this it is a beautiful object to decorate your home with. A round mirror is a bit less predictable  and a friendly form. What do you think?

Trend report: shades of ocean blue

At Maison & Objet last month I noticed all shades of ocean blue. This is the color trend of 2012! Combined with a touch of yellow it is just summer, exactly what we need right now...
At the stand of Antonio Lupi they combined the Ghost chair of Gervasoni in this beautiful turquoise with wood and shades of grey. That's a combination I adore and it's definitely a color/material scheme I'm going to use this year.

My new crush: the round mirror

I have a new crush, lately i'm into round mirrors and this is the one! The strap Mirror from HAY is on my wish list and the nice thing is that it's really affordable so hopefully it will be hanging on my wall soon...

Color Inpiration: The blues

What a nice example of how dark blue can work beautifully in an interior, it gives the space intimacy. I would prefer more wood in combination with the blue to add a bit more contrast.

Love these pictures, they were shown in VT Wonen magazine, a colaboration with HEMA. Unfortunately not all the accessories are for sale yet, like the little stool you see in the left, so I can't wait.
