Inspirerend kleurenpalet in restaurant Kopenhagen

Gister kwam ik dit prachtige restaurant tegen op de site van Frame Magazine. The Standard is gevestigd in hartje Kopenhagen in een historisch gebouw.

De stijl, de transparantie, het lijnenspel met rechte en ronde vormen, de kleur en materiaal combinaties, ik ben er helemaal weg van.
Het koele grijs en blauw gecombineerd met warmte in de vorm van hout, koper, een vleugje mat goud. Als finishing touch zijn er een aantal planten toegevoegd.
Dit rustige kleurenpalet vormt voor mij een prachtige inspiratie bron die je perfect toe kan passen op een interieur voor je thuis. De combinatie tussen koele en warme kleuren vormen voor mij de juiste balans.

Yesterday I found this lovely restaurant at the website of Frame Magazine. The Standard is situated in a historical building in the heart of Copenhagen.

The style, the light, the soft lines, the color and material combination, I love it! The cool grey and blue combined with warm wood, coper, a touch of matt gold. As the finishing touch the plants.
This balanced color palet is a beautiful inspiration to me, that you can easily translate in to your home.
The combiantion between the cool and warm colors create the right balance for me.

Op een onbewoond eiland...

Vrijdagavond voeren we vanuit de haven bij het Lloyd Hotel richting het Zomerrestaurant Vuurtoreneiland. Wat is Amsterdam toch mooi vanaf het water...
Op het eiland aangekomen wandelden we door het gras naar de glazen kas. Goed gegeten met het prachtige uitzicht als decor. Een inspirerende avond op een prachtige plek waar je eigenlijk niet meer weg wil....
Heel fijn dat mensen dit soort concepten bedenken en ze ook daadwerkelijk weten te realiseren!

Industrial italian: Vicini Rotterdam

Vicini is a new italian restaurant in Rotterdam. I like the industrial interior style, with the raw materials and the fabric fishes that are hanging in the space. They remind me of the work of Paola Navone and give the interior identity.

It's time to go to Rotterdam to eat good simple italian food!

We always have Paris

I'm so lucky, I will go to Paris twice soon. We go 4 days with christmas to relax, enjoy nice food, walk through the city and see inspiring concepts and shops! I go again with a friend to go to maison et objet to get more inspiration. Both times I will stay at Mama Shelter, looking forward to it so much...

What's your favorite place in Paris I should visit?

Inspiring McDonalds

I never imagined that I would be inspired by a McDonalds restaurant, but I would definitely go this one! This looks really different, what a great design. What do you think? Is this to reach a new and different target group?

Capital Kitchen Melbourne

Capital Kitchen is a combination of a café, bar and food-based home ware store in Melbourne. I think the corporate identity design and the interior design form a perfect combination. Love the marble Carrara bar, in this setting it is very modern in stead of classic.

Take away at Bakkerswinkel

The interior of the take away shop of the Bakkerswinkel in Amsterdam (Warmoestraat) is as cosy as the other shops. The counter is made of scrapwood designed by Piet Hein Eek, what I still like after all these years. I like the open raw wooden cupboards they painted i a high gloss grey hue, great (last picture)! Love their pies a lot, especially the cheese cake and carrot cake mmmmmmmm.

Let's make a pitstop in La Belgique

Recently I designed a shop of a petrol station, our concept was to make it a family kitchen. I will show you the drawings later. This weekend I was reorganizing a lot of magazines and articles when I found an article about this petrol station in Belgium, called Roodstop. It opened years ago and was definitely ahead of it's time. It is still very different from the average and it looks inviting to me. Of course I love the concrete flooring and industrial style. They serve Illy coffee and pepper soup, need I say more?

Southern comfort

During my search for a nice hotel in Antwerp for a weekend trip I found Hotel Julien. What a great place to stay with all these design classics in a classic environment. Love the patio with the black steel window frames like I used in my design (see my post) for our apartment in our design contest of Kavel 12 (you can still vote for us here)

Playful dutch interior

I like this playful interior of eatbar "DIT" , as they call it in dutch, in 's Hertogenbosch in The Netherlands. Don't you like the furniture? The furniture is designed by Roderick Vos and, one of the most inventive dutch designers in my opinion. Love the wall lightning and Bonsai Candleholders  of dutch brand Functionals!

Ocui – Open Cuisine, Munich

In my opinion this restaurant in Munich is a great design because the kitchen and bar form the central point in the space and everything happens around this midpoint. The first picture looks a bit grey but when you take a closer look on the next pics, you see they used leather stools and a soft pink fabric to give the interior warmth. This combination makes that the interior is balanced and looks inviting and fresh. Nice detail is that they used old fashioned white tiles, this adds more character to the interior.
