Second chance furniture

Vorige week stuurde mijn vriend me een bericht door van Ilovenoord over een nieuwe vintage winkel in Amsterdam Noord. Ik was meteen nieuwsgierig en sprong op de fiets om een kijkje te nemen bij La Casa Vecchia.

       

       

Marijn gaat opzoek naar mooie vondsten, knapt ze zelf op en stoffeert dingen opnieuw als het nodig is. Ik ben erg gecharmeerd van haar kleurgebruik. Ze creëert haar eigen verfkleuren door pigmenten te mengen en zo precies de kleur te krijgen die ze vind passen bij een bepaald meubel. Ook maakt ze zelf nieuwe meubels of armaturen, door bijvoorbeeld een statief te combineren met een oude warmte lamp ontstaat een heel nieuw object.
Ik was direct verkocht toen ik deze vintage kruk hierboven zag!

Le petit atelier de Paris

Afgelopen jaar was ik twee keer in Parijs, een bezoek aan Le petit atelier de Paris stond hoog op mijn to do list. Helaas stond ik voor een dichte deur...
Twee weken geleden was ik weer in Parijs om een vriendin op te zoeken en dus tijd voor poging 3!
Wat een fijne winkel! Zulke mooie spullen die met liefde gemaakt zijn. Hier werd ik heel blij van....

Last year I was in Paris twice and visiting Le petit atelier de Paris was high on my to do list. Unfortunately it was closed...

Two weeks ago I was in Paris to visit a friend so it was time for attempt 3.

What a lovely shop! Such beatiful things made with love and care. 

Take away at Bakkerswinkel

The interior of the take away shop of the Bakkerswinkel in Amsterdam (Warmoestraat) is as cosy as the other shops. The counter is made of scrapwood designed by Piet Hein Eek, what I still like after all these years. I like the open raw wooden cupboards they painted i a high gloss grey hue, great (last picture)! Love their pies a lot, especially the cheese cake and carrot cake mmmmmmmm.

This autumn Heal's is celebrating scandinavian design. They used a lot of the lovely products of Ferm living to decorate this room. Makes me happy!

A walk trough Amsterdam

I just walked to the Vlaamsch Broodhuys, my favourite bakery, during my lunch break to get nice bread for a picnic with my friends this evening. It's finally sunny and it's so beautiful outside. I feel very lucky to live in this area (Jordaan) It completely cheered me up, can you imagine?
