A long weekend in Lovely London

This weekend I've been in London. It was my second time and I enjoyed it so much. It was like the whole city was in bloom. The people are very friendly (the people in Amsterdam can learn a lot of the hospitality of the Londoners) and there are so many places to have great food. We had dinner at Momo and the next day at Nopi, the restaurant of Yotam Ottolenghi. This was both very different but so good! If you're in London I would definitely recommend to go there! You can also have lunch or coffee at Ottolenghi, very pleasant as well.

Dit weekend was ik Londen. Het was de tweede keer voor mij en ik heb er van genoten. Het leek alsof de hele stad in bloei stond. De mensen zijn zo vriendelijk (de mensen in Amsterdam kunnen nog veel leren van de gastvrijheid van de Londenaren) en er zijn zoveel plekken waar je goed kunt eten. We hebben gegeten bij  Momo en de volgende dag bij Nopi, the restaurant van Yotam Ottolenghi.  Beide heel verschillend maar zo heerlijk. Als je in Londen bent raad ik je aan er heen te gaan. Je kunt ook lunchen bij Ottolenghi, ook erg fijn.

Update for my interior: The eclectic art wall

For years now a have this ever evolving moodboard wall in my home. Now the time has come to change it. I'm thinking of creating a wall with a collage of frames filled with beautiful images and art.
Here some examples that may inspire your interior as well.

Al jaren heb ik een, constant veranderende, moodboard wand in mijn interieur. Nu wordt het tijd om het te veranderen. Ik wil een wand maken met een collage van lijsten met mooie afbeeldingen en kunst.

Interior advice: Bring spring into your interior

The combination of the high steel windows, vintage furniture and the touch of fresh green colors bring spring into your home. When you've created a good basic interior, like in this example,  it's easy to update your interior for the new season or for your taste of the moment with new accessories and textures.

De combinatie van de hoge stalen kozijnen, de vintage meubels en de frisse groene kleuren zorgen dat je de lente in huis haalt. Wanneer je een goed basis interieur gecreëerd hebt, zoals in dit voorbeeld, is het eenvoudig om je interieur een update te geven voor het nieuwe seizoen of voor je smaak van het moment met nieuwe accessoires en texturen.

Styling Idea: Springtime Carpet

Finally it's sunny again outside. Get spring inside by changing a few things in your interior. For instance update your home by adding a fresh and sunny carpet.

DIY idea for your interior: Sliding doors

This would me a great solution for the open space between our living room and the hallway. Especially in winter time I miss a door here. But it 's a rental apartment and I don't know for how long we will be living here... Maybe a good idea for our next home.

Styling idea: The round mirror

A great benefit of using a mirror in your interior is that it makes a room more spacious.  Beside this it is a beautiful object to decorate your home with. A round mirror is a bit less predictable  and a friendly form. What do you think?

Styling idea: decorative plates

A great styling idea is to create a composition of different plates, like these examples.

It's an easy way to create a personal creative wall.... You can make your own plates from papier mâché, update flea market finds with fluor washi tape or just choose only blue ones for your collection

Eclectic by Tom Dixon

I'm very fond of the lighting collection of Tom Dixon. Unfortunately the copper shades were cut of a project recently because of the budget, what a shame....

At Maison et Objet Tom Dixon launched a collection with smaller things, called Eclectic. 

Cool name don't you think? 

I would like to have this beautiful chop board, you can't see it very well but there is a golden detail laid in the board.

Industrial italian: Vicini Rotterdam

Vicini is a new italian restaurant in Rotterdam. I like the industrial interior style, with the raw materials and the fabric fishes that are hanging in the space. They remind me of the work of Paola Navone and give the interior identity.

It's time to go to Rotterdam to eat good simple italian food!

Trend report: shades of ocean blue

At Maison & Objet last month I noticed all shades of ocean blue. This is the color trend of 2012! Combined with a touch of yellow it is just summer, exactly what we need right now...
At the stand of Antonio Lupi they combined the Ghost chair of Gervasoni in this beautiful turquoise with wood and shades of grey. That's a combination I adore and it's definitely a color/material scheme I'm going to use this year.
