Tomozza spaghetti by jamie Oliver

I've never blogged about food before, only about where you can eat it:-)
But I love to cook and yesterday we've made this recipe and it was so lovely that I want to share this with you. It's in the Jamie magazine of this month (check this link of the dutch edition). It's very easy and fast so ideal for a weekday when you have little time.

Ingredients:

4 persons
• 350 g spaghetti
• 500 g small tomatoes, cut in half without the seeds
• 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
• 1 ts dried oregano
• 6  table spoons olive oil
• fresh basil leaves, half a hand, chopped.
• 20 black olives
• 1 ball mozzarella of 200 gr, sliced
• 4 ansjovisfilets, finely sliced (I used Ortiz, expensive but definitely worth it!)
• 2 table spoons capers
It's not in the recipe, but I added some lemon zest & juice for extra freshness...

Cook the spaghetti al dente. In the mean time mix all the ingredients together, except the basil leaves, in a large bowl to marinate. (if you have more time you can prepare this earlier so the taste will get more intense) Drain the pasta and add it to the tomato&co and mix it well. Finally add the basil and serve, enjoy!

Walk the line

Recently the second part of the 'The high line' in NY was finished. I remember I saw the first part a few years ago in a magazine and I was so fascinated by the fact they used an old subway line as a  base for a park. The result is so much more then only a park, it becomes the glue that connects the buildings and a place for people to meet.

Today I ♥ this shelving by VT Wonen

I like open shelving like this a lot. It's a great way to display your favorite books and treasures. It makes that your interior becomes an extension of your personality and you will feel at home in your own home.

Vintage style in the office: HQ Facebook

Yesterday I wrote about my love for vintage. Today I want to show you a nice example where the designers used a lot of vintage in the design of the headquarters of Facebook in California. It looks inviting and I like the use of color in combination with the retro stone walls of this former laboratory.

Vintage style

I'm still in love with vintage furniture because it adds so much more character to an interior then when you only use new things. Here are a few inspiring pictures...

Layers of color

To be honest I didn't expect this colorful building to be a bank! But it's a great unexpected inspiration we could use in lot's of public places. To me the touch of color makes it a very positive place. I thought I recognized the puffs that are flying around this time of year in the motifs on the ceiling and in an article from the contemporist I red: "the ceiling is adorned with dandelion puff motifs that seem to float and drift through the air. In Europe, there is a long and cherished custom of blowing on one of these fuzzy balls while secretly making a wish. Bits of fluffy down gently dance and frolic in the air, carried by the wind."
Isn't that beautiful?

A little inspiration for the weekend: The great escape

I need a little bit of sunshine today because it is so grey outside... So here a lot of sunny yellow from La Banane, a retro-chiq hotel in St Barth. It was created in the 50's by Jean-Marie Rivière.  It was recently revamped and you can see the kept the vibe from the past and combined it with contemporary pieces.

Cool statement: Home Camping by Paula Sevilla

I like this original lamp made of tools for camping. Very inventive. It inspires me to see how designers transform existing things and put in a different environment so it get's a new meaning and experience.

It's alive.....

"Di Corte" is a series of chairs that look as though they’re going back to their roots. Very inspirational to me.

My home office

I have this home office for a while now, but I recently removed my computer to get more space, because I want to use it more often. Yesterday I put up these little shelf and I'm so happy with the result. It's a perfect place to show beautiful books and other things I cherish. I think it will invite me more often to sit down and read magazines, write, get great ideas and inspiration!
