Stylist Abigail Ahern: work & home

London designer Abigail Ahern has an inspiring shop in London, is an interior designer and has a blog where she writes about must have products, design trends and gorgeous interiors, nice! She published a book as well, A girl's guide to decorating, the cover looks inviting.
The first pictures are from here home and the colorful ones are from designs for clients. What a difference, but I can understand that she wants a harmonious interior with grey's and natural colors and materials, when you are in so much color all day. But I like here cool and quirky style as well and that she is absolutely not afraid to use color. Great inspiration for the weekend!

Ysbreeker Amsterdam

This Cafe/restaurant in Amsterdam is a place where I haven't been yet because it's at the other side of town and when you live in Amsterdam you get spoiled and lazy because of the amount of nice venues. My father often plans his meetings over there and is very enthusiastic about it, so that's how goy curious. When I see these pictures I think it's worth it to bike to the east side! I really like the black steel construction at the bar to show the bottles. These industrial construction suits the building very well, they used it at the entrance as well. The interior design is done by PrastHooft who have designed a few of my favourites here in Amsterdam.

Let there be light

I really like the industrial look of this space and of course the natural light that makes this gallery so spacious. These ingredients form ideal setting for showcasing both the furniture collections and the ultra-modern space.

Dock restaurant, London

Dock restaurant looks very inviting to me. It is designed by Tom Dixon design studio, as you can see by his beautiful bronze copper shade he used in this design. I like to use it my own designs as well because you can make a big gesture. I only knew the copper shade so I'm happy there is a bronze version as well!
This spring we go a few days to London for an inspiration trip with my office so I will suggest to go to because it looks definitely inspiring to me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! The dinner table...

Friday night we organized a dinner and my boyfriend solved the lack of napkin rings by using a tie-raps instead. I thought it was a very creative solution :-)
Wish you all a happy new year!!!

DIY project for the weekend, new fabric on a vintage stool

A few years ago I bought this stool with green fake leather for €15,- and I had the idea to cover it with a Ikat fabric for a while now. Then I found this old scarf and thought it could be a great match. Here is the result and how it looked before.
